We're calling because we already serve businesses in your area and want to be your backup (or primary) courier the next time something can't wait.
90 seconds of prep doubles your hit rate. Pull the lead in Search/Pipeline and check:
Set the follow-up before you hang up. Every call ends with a date in the Sales tool — even a "no thanks" gets a 6-month recheck. No follow-up = the lead is forgotten.
Goal: earn the next 60 seconds. Be short, be local, ask a question.
"Hi, this is [your name] with JM Express, a Miami courier — we move freight for businesses around [their neighborhood]. I'm not selling anything today, I just wanted to ask — when something urgent needs to leave [their address] and FedEx is too slow, who do you usually call?"
"Hola, le habla [su nombre] de JM Express, un courier de Miami — movemos carga para negocios en [su zona]. No le estoy vendiendo nada hoy, solo quería preguntarle — cuando algo urgente tiene que salir de [su dirección] y FedEx no llega a tiempo, ¿a quién llama usted?"
If they engage, your job is to find a real shipping problem. Pick 2–3 — don't interrogate.
The Search tab queries by category. Lead with the angle that matches.
Wedge: emergency parts and last-minute customer rescues.
"When a customer is screaming for a part you forgot to add to the truck, who runs it across town? That's the call we want next time. Same-day pickup in under an hour, signed proof-of-delivery, and you can bill us on Net-30."
Wedge: time-critical specimens, scheduled lab pickups, after-hours runs.
"We can put a clean, uniformed driver on a daily pickup schedule — fixed window, fixed price, every weekday. And when something time-critical comes up at 7pm, dispatch is staffed 24/7. Drivers are background-checked."
If they ask about HIPAA / specimen handling: get the exact requirement and tell them dispatch will call back within the hour. Don't promise on the spot.
Wedge: white-glove delivery, last-mile to the customer's home, liftgate trucks.
"Your showroom sold it — we can pick it up, deliver to the customer's house, and have them sign for it. Pallets, oversized boxes, anything you can't fit in a sedan. The customer never has to wait two weeks for a delivery slot."
Wedge: contract runs, courthouse filings, closing documents, signature collection.
"When a contract has to be on someone's desk this afternoon, we'll have it there and email you the signature. A lot of firms use us as their courthouse filer too — fixed price per filing, no surprises."

Wedge: local same-day delivery as a sales feature, returns pickup.
"If your customer's inside the Miami metro and wants it today, you can offer that — we'll pick it up at your store and have it on their doorstep within hours. You charge whatever you want; we just bill you our flat rate."
Wedge: overflow capacity when your own crew is booked.
"When you're double-booked and don't want to turn down the job, we can be your overflow crew. Liftgate trucks, insured, bilingual drivers — your customer never knows we're not your guys."
When they ask "what do you actually do," answer with the right tier.

Plus 9 specialty services on the public site. If they ask about something unusual (medical, legal filings, white-glove, etc.) it's likely listed — offer to email a link rather than reading the catalog over the phone.
You will be asked. Do not freelance numbers.
"Pricing depends on three things — distance, size, and how fast you need it. Rather than guess, the fastest thing is for me to send you our quote link or take a quick ZIP-to-ZIP and have dispatch text you a number in about 15 minutes. Either work?"
"For a typical same-day inside Miami it's usually competitive with what you'd pay a major carrier for next-day — but we'll quote the exact shipment so you're not getting a number that's wrong by half."
"If you're moving multiple shipments a week, we can set up a retainer or a dedicated route — that drops the per-stop rate significantly. Worth a 10-minute conversation with our dispatch lead."
Never quote on the call without a real lane. Wrong numbers stick. Always: ZIP / ZIP / weight / window → dispatch quotes → you follow up.
Don't argue. Acknowledge → reframe → ask a question.
"That's exactly why I'm calling — not to replace them, just to be the second number in your phone for the day they can't make it. What happens right now when they're unavailable?"
"That's fine — we don't have minimums and there's no contract. Most of our customers use us a few times a quarter. Want me to text you our dispatch number so it's there when you need it?"
"Fair question. The honest answer: try us on a small one first. Pick something low-stakes and give us the run. If we don't show up on time you don't pay, and you never call us again. We're trying to build this on referrals, not contracts."
Do not invent a track record. Honesty about being new actually closes — most operators inflate their history and buyers can tell.

"Totally — FedEx is great for tomorrow. We're the call for today. Anything ever come up where 'tomorrow' wasn't going to cut it?"
"Happy to. Quick question while I have you — when an email lands in your inbox titled 'JM Express dispatch info', what's the chance you'll open it next week? Want me to put a quick 10-minute call on the calendar instead so I can answer questions?"
If they still want email: send it the same day. Log "sent intro email" in the lead.
"Understood — I won't keep you. Mind if I check back in 6 months in case anything changes?" Then mark the lead lost and set a 6-month follow-up.
"No problem — who handles shipping or dispatch over there? I'd rather not waste your time forwarding emails." Capture the name, mark the lead, call back next day asking for that person by name.
Every call ends with one of these. No "I'll be in touch" — that's a no.
"Perfect — call (305) 600-9109 when you're ready, or text the same number. Mention my name so dispatch knows it's the test run. I'll check in tomorrow to see how it went."
Five minutes per call. Skip it and the pipeline rots.
